香自数千年以来便为人所用，其用途和形态也基本固定不便。然而，在干燥定型之前，香其实如同黏土般柔软，可以随意塑形。作品《时间的礼物 The Present of Time》便是利用这一特性，探索造型与原料对燃烧的影响，将香化为灰烬的过程也融入设计之中，在文化历史的土壤中创造新的价值。

香曾经是用作计时的工具。如今已不再被用于追求精准与效率，而是在缓慢的时间流动中，呈现鲜活的生命体验，萌发出一种新的对时间的感知。

お香は数千年にわたり人々に親しまれ、その用途や形態は長らく固定されてきた。しかし、乾燥前のお香は粘土のように柔らかく、自由に形を変えることができる。この特性を活かして、「時間の贈り物 The Present of Time」では、造形や原料が燃焼に与える影響を探求し、お香が灰へと変わる過程をデザインに取り入れ、文化的な歴史を背景に新たな価値を生み出している。

お香はかつて時間を測る道具として使われていた。今ではお香を正確さや効率を求めるために使うことはなくなり、その代わりに、ゆっくりとした時間の流れの中で、生き生きとした生命の体験が新たな価値として息づき始めた。

Incense has been cherished for thousands of years, with its use s and forms largely unchanged. Before drying, incense is soft like clay and can be freely shaped. "The Present of Time" explores how the shape and ingredients of incense affect its combustion, incorporating the process of incense turning into ash as part of the design, creating new value rooted in cultural history.

Once used to measure time, incense is no longer valued for accuracy or efficiency. Instead, it now offers a sensory experience that highlights the passage of time and life, creating new value.

花蕾形的香点燃时，宛如早春的梅花，散发出艳丽光彩；树叶形的香则如同秋日红叶般，鲜明夺目，最终走向凋零。春有繁花，冬有静雪。

随着四季更替，万物终将衰败、消逝，却又生生不息。香的传承历史与禅的思想紧密相连，当我们将意识专注于“此刻”，便会发现“Present”既是“当下”，也是来自时间的“礼物”。


蕾の形をしたお香は、灯すと早春の梅のように艶やかな光を放ち、葉の形をしたお香は、秋の紅葉のように鮮やかに燃え、やがて枯れていく。春には花が咲き誇り、冬には静かに雪が降り積もる。

春夏秋冬の移りゆく中で、すべてのいのちは衰え、朽ち果て、やがて再生へと繋がる。お香の伝来の歴史は、禅の思想と深く結びついている。「今、この瞬間」に意識を向ければ、「Present」は「今」という時間からの「贈り物」でもある。

Incense shaped like buds emits a glow like early spring plum blossoms, while leaf-shaped incense burns like autumn foliage, eventually withering.

Through the changing seasons, life declines, decays, and ultimately connects to rebirth. The history of incense is intertwined with Zen philosophy, and when we focus on "this moment," "the Present" becomes a “gift" from time itself.

“即使是闪耀亿万年的星辰，也终有其寿命。”
“而随季节开放的一朵小花，却承载着无限的生命。”
小时候，我常常听这首歌。

火焰在一支支相接的香之间传递。花朵飘落，化为灰烬，却又孕育新的花朵绽放，将生命延续。
每一个瞬间，一分一秒都在消逝，但在片刻之中，连接成永恒。

「何億光年 輝く星にも寿命があると」
「季節ごとに咲く　一輪の花に　無限の命」
子どもの頃、この歌をよく聴いていた。

お香とお香が触れ合うところから、火は移ろいでいく。
花が散り、灰となり、やがてまた新たな花が咲き、命をつないでいく。
一瞬一瞬が過ぎ去りながらも、繋がり続け、永遠へと広がっていく。

“Even stars that shine for billions of years must one day perish.” “But a single flower that blooms with the seasons carries an infinite life within.”
As a child, I often listened to this song.

The flame passes from one stick of incense to another where they touch. Flowers fall, turning into ash, yet new blossoms emerge, carrying life forward. Each fleeting moment slips away, yet through connection, they expand into eternity.
